# OA Staking Benefits

### About

After the launch of Evmos, Orbital Apes will be running a validator on mainnet to help secure the network.

10% of the minting proceeds will be self bonded to the Orbital Apes validator to reach the active set of validators.

### Why Should I stake with Orbital Apes?

Staking allows users to earn interest on their Evmos in exchange for helping secure the network and vote in governance proposals. Each validator charges a minimum 5% commission rate on the interest earned by users.

The Orbital Apes validator will redistribute 50% of its commission fees to Orbital Apes holders while the other 50% will be used to maintain the validator. This means that by holding an Orbital Ape it is beneficial to delegate to our validator as stakers will earn their usual interest rates plus an additional portion of the validator commissions.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.orbitalapes.com/orbital-apes-validator/oa-staking-benefits.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
